Mr. Kaniption was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. While coming up in what is known as the “Star City”, he took to music at a very early age. As a youth, he played the violin for a few years and was immediately fascinated by the complex and beautiful nature of the compositions of classical music from a theory and sound based standpoint. R&B, Funk, and Soul music also played a huge role in his upbringing as well. It was constantly on rotation by father and uncles and many of those same physical records that they played are still in his growing collection of vinyl to this day. These types of music contributed to shaping his desire to understand the meaning behind music and the connection it can make with individuals.
